Version 1. In force from 1 August 2026.
1. The rule we apply
No cookie other than a strictly necessary one is set before you have made a choice. That is what the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR require in the EU, what PECR requires in the United Kingdom, and it is the rule we apply to every visitor regardless of where they are.
Accepting and refusing are equally easy: both buttons appear on the first screen of the banner and carry the same visual weight. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
2. Global Privacy Control
If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal (Sec-GPC: 1), we treat it as a refusal of analytics and advertising cookies and we do not show you a banner. This also serves as an opt-out of sale or sharing under the CCPA as amended, although we do not sell or share personal information in any event.
3. Categories
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These cannot be switched off because the site cannot work without them. They store no advertising identifier and are not used to track you across sites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
lir_consent | Records your cookie choice and the version of the policy you saw | 12 months |
lir_theme | Your choice of light, dark or automatic theme | 12 months |
lir_first | The source of your first visit, used to attribute an enquiry to the advertising that produced it | 12 months |
lir_vid | A random visitor identifier, used to deduplicate enquiries and to protect the form against automated abuse | 12 months |
3.2 Analytics — only with your consent
| Service | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
Google Analytics 4 _ga, _ga_* | Statistics on visits, sources and behaviour | Up to 24 months |
| Google Tag Manager | Manages the loading of the tags above. Sets no cookie of its own | — |
Yandex.Metrica _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad, _ym_visorc | Statistics, click map, and session recording ("Webvisor") | Up to 24 months |
About session recording. Yandex.Metrica is configured with Webvisor, which records how a page is used rather than merely counting visits. It loads only after you consent to this category. The fields of the enquiry form are masked, so what you type into them does not appear in any recording.
3.3 Marketing
We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies. The category exists in the banner so that, if that ever changes, your prior refusal is already recorded and will be respected.
4. Advertising parameters in the address bar
When you arrive from an advertisement, the address of the page may carry parameters such as utm_source, gclid or yclid. We read them, and if you submit an enquiry we store them with it so that we know which advertising works. They are stored as part of the enquiry, not as a separate tracking cookie, and they are covered by the consent you give when submitting the form.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will mean the site does not remember your cookie choice or your theme, and you will be asked again on each visit.
6. Changes
If we add a cookie we will update this page and, where the new cookie is not strictly necessary, ask for your consent again.
