Version 1. In force from 1 August 2026.
1. Who operates this site
This site is operated by Yalanzhi & Partners LLC (ООО «ЯЛАНЖИ И ПАРТНЕРЫ»), a legal entity registered in the Russian Federation, INN 9717182760, KPP 771701001, OGRN 1257700370641, registered office: Olminskogo proezd 4, office 8n, Moscow 129085, Russian Federation. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What this site is
An information resource about our criminal defence practice in the Russian Federation, and a means of contacting us. It is not a legal advice service and it is not an offer of legal services within the meaning of Article 435 of the Russian Civil Code.
3. The material published here
Everything on this site describes Russian law in general terms and is written for readers who are not lawyers and do not read Russian. It is not advice on your case, it cannot take account of facts we have not seen, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for instructing a lawyer.
Russian criminal law and procedure change. We keep this material current and correct errors when we find them, but we do not warrant that every page reflects the law as at the moment you read it. Sentencing ranges in particular are statutory ranges, not predictions: the maximum for an article is a ceiling, not an expected outcome.
4. What contacting us does and does not create
Submitting the form, writing to us or speaking to us does not create a lawyer–client relationship. That relationship arises only when a retainer agreement is concluded and we have confirmed that we are able to act, which requires a conflicts check.
Two consequences follow. Do not send us documents or detailed case material until we have confirmed we can act. And do not rely on anything said in a first conversation as advice on which to make a decision in your case.
Confidentiality is a separate matter and it does apply from the outset: under Article 8 of the Federal Law on Advocacy, circumstances that become known to an advocate in connection with a request for legal assistance are privileged whether or not the request results in instructions.
5. Intellectual property
The texts, design, layout and other content of this site belong to the operator and are protected by copyright. You may quote from them with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce them systematically, or use them to create a substantially similar resource, without our written permission.
6. Links to other sites
Where we link to an external resource, we do so for information. We do not control it and we are not responsible for its content or for its handling of your data.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. It may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. If a matter is urgent, telephone or a messaging application is a more reliable channel than a web form.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for loss arising from the use of, or reliance on, material published on this site, or from the unavailability of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them limits our professional obligations to clients under a concluded retainer.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. This does not deprive a consumer resident elsewhere of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence.
10. Changes
We may amend these terms. The current version is always the one published on this page, and its version number appears at the top.
